S9TF AF-044  "Principe Island 2014"

Here below you can find several pictures of our previous activities. Dxing has been our main passion since ever and after years spent behind a microphone or with a key paddle or in front of a keyboard we wish to be "on the other side", at least, for once in order to taste what we feel calling with a callsign of a rare Iota referecence or of a not really common country. That's why we decided to combine both desires this time; S9 (Sao Tomé prefix) and AF-044 (Principe Island).



 

 

On the right we are in the Tremiti Islands. A very nice Italian Archipelago located in the south east of the Italian peninsula. We recognize - from the left - IK5BCM, IK5ABG, IK5CBE, IK5DFE, IK5CRH and Simone. It is the 2009. The callsign was IL7X.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

D44TBE was the callsign for the dx pedition in Capo Verde Islands on February 2011 (more than 10.000 qso).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

While TO4M has been the callsign of our trip to Mayotte Island (South Indian Ocean) on February 2012 (more than 13.000 qso)

The short movie has been filmed by Andy (our ace in the hole) while the S9TF crew was assembling the Sipderbeam at Paperino (a tiny village located in the south suburbs of our city (Prato) in order to make a first trial. It seems that the antenna works very well; we are sure it will be very helpful once we will be active from Principe is.

.....but...oopss! Too much gas... The generator issued AC 295 Volts and two power amplifiers and two power supplies blowed up. 

Yes, maybe too much gas!!!
